OUR MOTTO:
COMITTMENT, DETERMINATION
&
HARD TRAINING
IS
THE KEY TO A
PERFECT
KARATE MAN!
TRAINING
The
genius of karate-do is to improve the ‘shin’ (mind, mental
improvement),‘Gi’(techniques), ‘Tai’(body, physical improvement), that everyone
would like to achieve, through daily training. In addition, we suggest
"Lifetime Karate" that is customized training programs according to
each one's skill level, objectives and in consideration of Gender, Age, Health
Condition, and what kind of handicap one has.
TRAINING POLICY
‘Reigi’(courtesy)
and ‘Saho’ (manner) is emphasized in our teaching method. We provide hard
training of ‘Waza’ (methods) in a sociable atmosphere that will promote
internal growth.
COURSES
CHILDREN
You will have a lot
of fellows here, while many other children may play video games alone. Though
training is hard, you can make good friends and can grow up together. No fear
of bullying.
There are numerous
JKA/WF-Tanzania programs for children. In Tanzania, we have separated youth
(age 6-18) from adults in Tournaments since 2007 (1st JKA/WF–Tanzania,
Southern, Central & East African Region Individual Open Tournament),
setting up a special annual Tournament for elementary and junior high school
students.
Karate for children
is not only fun, it provides many important benefits to young people. Some of
these benefits are referred to in Japanese as Chiiku (mental development),
Tokuiku (moral development) and Taiiku (physical development). These are the
same three classes of personal development found in traditional educational
systems.
In terms of Chiiku
(mental development), karate helps build concentration, focus, clear thinking
and decisiveness.
Karate has strong
internal benefits as well. It helps instill patience, discipline, perseverance,
understanding and open-mindedness. It builds confidence, develops self-control
and increases calmness, courtesy and peace all of which will aid everyone in
every endeavor they undertake in life. These correspond to Tokuiku (moral
development).
Of course, karate is
good for the body, too (Taiiku). Physically it is excellent for the heart,
builds strong bones and bigger muscles, creates resilience, and makes the body
less susceptible to sickness and injury.
In all these ways,
karate is profoundly helpful to young people in dealing with the many
challenges facing them in today's society. It brings them balance and
perspective at an age when these are needed most. It adds a strong foundation
to their character.
NOTE:
Other karate organizations often allow children as young as six or seven
years old start Kumite (sparring). But at the JKA, so as to avoid the
possibility of injury, no Kumite (sparring) is allowed until the child is Nine
years old and in the Fifth Grade.
WOMEN
There is a worry
that Public Safety is getting worse. Let's learn Karate as the Art of
Self-Defense. You can take lessons by our Professional Instructors. If you
continue, your diet will succeed!
ATHLETES
For
Athletes, we have professional Instructors that have achieved great triumphs in
Matches held in and out of Tanzania. They devote all their energy to nurturing
Real Athletes. You may be able to take part in matches and make a very strong
showing. Of course, if you want to train yourself at your own pace, you can do
so.
ELDERLY
To
promote your health, to alleviate stress, or to make up for a lack of exercise,
you can start training at your own pace. Some Matches are held for elderly
persons, although competition is not a requirement!
DISABLED
For persons in
Wheelchairs, or those who lost Physical Strength due to illness or surgery; do
not give up doing Karate! We created ‘Kata’s especially for wheelchair users.
Even if you can cope with your illness or surgery, to build up your physical
strength or for rehabilitation, Karate can be introduced in your daily life.
You may develop a strong will that can help you challenge your illness through
Karate.
